Job Description

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) within a public school district in Deland, FL. This role offers the opportunity to work with students across multiple elementary and middle school locations, providing vital speech and language services that support student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive speech-language therapy to students across Ormond Beach Elementary, Pine Trail Elementary, and Silver Sands Middle School. Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Supervise Clinical Fellows, providing guidance and support as they develop their professional skills. Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in compliance with school district policies. Participate in meetings and school activities as needed to support student learning outcomes.
Qualifications:
Valid Florida Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree willing to work under a temporary teaching certificate will be considered for this year only (SLPA license not acceptable). Previous experience working in school settings strongly preferred. Ability to supervise Clinical Fellows (CFs) is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills.
Location and Schedule:
Primarily based in Deland, FL, with service locations including Ormond Beach Elementary (3 days), Pine Trail Elementary (1 day), and Silver Sands Middle School (4 days). For the current school year, the position involves working approximately 37.5 hours per week. Starting ASAP with contract end date June 5, 2026. Next year, this will evolve into a full 5-day position.
