Job Description
Job Overview .We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will work with residents in a skilled nursing facility setting, providing speech therapy services to support their communication needs. The Speech Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders while collaborating with clinical staff and families to enhance resident outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' speech and language abilities. Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident's needs. Implement evidence-based speech therapy interventions in both individual and group settings. Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Collaborate with nurses, parents, and other professionals to support residents' communication goals. Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech Language Pathologist. Experience working in a nursing setting is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of adult physiology and anatomy related to speech and language development. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices. Excellent patient assessment skills to identify communication disorders effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, families, and colleagues.
