A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Overview Full-time 8:00AM TO 4:30PM Sunday through Thursday UF Health Therapists provide rehabilitation services in the Acute setting, working to create and customize the best course of treatment for conditions that limit a patient's ability to move, be active, communicate, swallow, and complete daily tasks and activities. Our skilled team strives to maximize physical performance, while addressing cognitive and psychosocial components of care to achieve the best functional outcomes. The UF Health Shands Children's Hospital is located in the North Tower and provides service to patients from neonate up to older peds. Units include general pediatrics, NICU, PICU and PCICU. Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors or higher as designated by professional license Experience or fieldwork in the acute setting preferred Inpatient/outpatient pediatric feeding/swallowing experience preferred (ages 0-18) Pediatric

MBS/FEES

experience preferred Demonstrates strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with others and work as a team
