A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description
The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Speech and Language Therapist to provide evaluation and treatment for adults in a skilled nursing and rehab setting. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing assessments, developing individualized care plans, delivering 1:1 and group therapy, and documenting services per regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with nursing, PT/OT, and physicians, educate residents and families, and support safe discharge planning. The role offers a resident-centered culture, strong interdisciplinary teamwork, and opportunities for professional growth. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing evaluations for adult residents Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and goals Provide 1:1 and group therapy for communication, swallowing, and cognitive disorders Document assessments, progress notes, and care plans accurately in the EMRCollaborate with nursing, PT/OT, physicians, and social services on interdisciplinary care plans Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication and swallowing strategies Participate in care conferences and contribute to discharge planning and safe transitions of care Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations and professional standards Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans based on response and goals Support a resident-centered, compassionate environment aligned with The Savoy's mission Required Skills Speech-language pathology Dysphagia assessment and treatment Cognitive-communication therapy Aphasia treatment Voice and speech therapy Clinical documentation (EMR) Interdisciplinary care planning Swallow studies/screening Patient and family education Skilled nursing/rehab regulations
