Job Description
Overview Speech Innovations is a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of pediatric Speech and Occupational Therapists dedicated to helping children reach their full communication potential. We foster a collaborative, supportive environment where clinicians and families work together to achieve meaningful progress. We are seeking a passionate and collaborative Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to serve as a Supervisor and Evaluator for Clinical Fellows (CFs) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs), while also maintaining a pediatric caseload. This role is ideal for clinicians who enjoy mentoring others, working closely with children and families, and contributing to a team-based care model. All services are provided in-clinic. In this vital role, you will deliver speech therapy services to pediatric patients, develop tailored treatment plans, and supervise clinical staff to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Duties Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that target speech, language, and swallowing disorders in children from early intervention through school age. Supervise and evaluate clinical staff, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure adherence to best practices in speech therapy for CF and SLPA Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, educators, and family members—to coordinate patient care and optimize therapy outcomes. Document patient progress, maintaining accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and outcomes aligned with healthcare standards. Support ongoing staff training on topics such as medical terminology, patient assessment strategies, and intervention protocols. Experience Proven experience working with pediatric populations in school settings or clinical environments specializing in pediatrics. Demonstrated expertise in speech therapy techniques for early intervention programs. Prior supervisory experience or evaluator roles within speech-language pathology is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to speech production and swallowing functions. Familiarity with patient assessment procedures, including the use of standardized tests and observational techniques. Excellent understanding of medical terminology relevant to pediatric speech-language pathology. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care. Key Responsibilities Supervise and mentor Clinical Fellows (CFs) in accordance with ASHA guidelines Provide supervision and oversight for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations; develop individualized treatment plans Provide 1:1 speech and language therapy services to children Participate in small group therapy sessions targeting developmental skills Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and pragmatic disorders Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care Educate families and caregivers on strategies for home and school carryover Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and other professionals Maintain accurate and timely documentation Refer or consult with additional specialists when appropriate After-school availability is requested. Requirements Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited university Active Florida licensure through the Department of Health (DOH) Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) (required for supervisory role) Experience supervising CFs and/or SLPAs (preferred) Active Medicaid number (preferred) Pediatric experience (minimum 1 year required) After-school availability (requested) Qualifications & Skills Experience working with pediatric and special needs populations Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Passion for mentoring and supporting developing clinicians Knowledge of current therapy techniques and evidence-based practices Professional, organized, and compassionate approach to care Why Join Speech Innovations?
