Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Location - Serenity Estates of Merritt Island 1100 S Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32952
Position Type Employment Type:

Key Responsibilities Diagnostic Evaluations:
Assess residents for speech, language, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders, as well as swallowing dysfunction (dysphagia).
Therapeutic Treatment:
Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans to improve communication clarity and ensure safe nutritional intake.
Dysphagia Management:
Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and provide vital training on diet textures and compensatory strategies to prevent aspiration.
Cognitive Rehabilitation:
Facilitate memory, problem-solving, and executive function training to help residents navigate their daily environments safely.
Collaboration:
Coordinate care with the nursing staff, dietary team, and other therapy disciplines to provide a comprehensive recovery plan.
Documentation:
Maintain precise and timely clinical records in accordance with Florida state licensure and facility requirements.
