$34.00 - $48.00 per hour (commensurate with licensure and experience) About the Program Our multi-discipline day program provides comprehensive therapeutic and developmental services to neurodivergent children between the ages of 5 and 12. Our collaborative team includes licensed therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behavioral analysts, and special educators who work together to deliver individualized, strength-based care in a structured and nurturing environment. Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and flexible per diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary clinical team on an as-needed basis. The per diem SLP will provide evaluation and treatment services addressing communication, language, fluency, feeding, and social pragmatics for children enrolled in the program. This role is ideal for a clinician who thrives in a collaborative, neurodiversity-affirming environment and values schedule flexibility. The SLP will coordinate closely with families, caregivers, educators, and fellow clinicians to ensure continuity and quality of care during each assignment. Key Responsibilities Clinical Services Provide individual and small-group speech-language therapy to children ages 5-12 with a range of profiles including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental language disorder, childhood apraxia of speech, fluency disorders, and social communication challenges Conduct comprehensive speech, language, fluency, and feeding/swallowing evaluations and contribute to integrated intake assessments as assigned Implement and carry forward individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team Deliver augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessments and support robust AAC implementation across settings Facilitate social pragmatics groups to support peer interaction, turn-taking, and functional communication Monitor and document client progress using evidence-based outcome measures Collaboration & Communication Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings when scheduled during assignment days Maintain open, consistent communication with parents and caregivers regarding treatment goals, home strategies, and progress Coordinate with the primary clinical team to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care between per diem and regular staff Provide consultation to program staff on communication supports, AAC strategies, and neurodiversity-affirming practices Documentation & Compliance Complete all clinical documentation in a timely manner in accordance with program, licensing, and payer requirements, including session notes, progress reports, evaluation summaries, and discharge documentation Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state licensure regulations, and program policies Participate in required training activities and orientation as needed Qualifications Required Active, unrestricted Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA Current and valid Florida state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology Master's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited program Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with children and/or adolescents Experience working with neurodivergent populations, including children with ASD, developmental language disorders, and childhood apraxia of speech Proficiency in conducting speech and language evaluations and developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Experience with AAC systems and a commitment to robust, presumptive AAC implementation Demonstrated ability to integrate quickly into an interdisciplinary team environment Preferred Experience in a day treatment, partial hospitalization, or intensive outpatient program setting Training or certification in PROMPT, PECS, LAMP, social thinking frameworks, or other neurodiversity-affirming communication approaches Experience facilitating social pragmatics or communication groups for children Prior per diem, PRN, or contract therapy experience Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems Core Competencies Neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and trauma-informed clinical perspective Excellent interpersonal skills with children, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues Cultural humility and commitment to equitable, inclusive care Strong clinical judgment, flexibility, and creative problem-solving Ability to adapt quickly to existing caseloads, documentation systems, and team workflows Organized, detail-oriented, and reliable Working Conditions This position is performed on-site at the day program facility in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
