Provide clinical evaluation and treatment for adult and geriatric patients with communication and swallowing disorders in an acute care hospital setting. Work with a cohesive speech therapy team known for patient advocacy and clinical strength. Expect to perform instrumental assessments and dysphagia management while using Meditech for documentation. Minimum Qualifications Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Active Florida Speech-Language Pathology License required. Provisional licenses not accepted. BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS)/fluoroscopy and full proficiency performing MBS studies. Acute care experience providing swallow evaluations (post-extubation, stroke protocol, pneumonia, failure to thrive, altered mental status) and dysphagia treatments for adult/geriatric populations. Experience working independently in fast-paced acute care with limited onsite training for clinical procedures. Preferred Qualifications Prior acute care hospital experience with full caseload management (approximately 10-12 patients). Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record system. Previous travel clinician experience preferred.
Assignment Details Shift Hours:
08:00-16:30.
Typical caseload:
approximately 10-12 patients when full caseload. Department uses MBS/fluoro equipment; candidates must be proficient.

Join a five-person speech therapy team focused on high-quality, evidence-based care. Your role will include swallow evaluations, dysphagia management, speech and language treatment, and conducting MBS studies to guide interdisciplinary care plans. Location Highlights Plantation offers convenient access to coastal and urban attractions within short drives. Fort Lauderdale Beach and the Intracoastal Waterway are about 15-25 minutes east, providing coastal recreation and waterfront dining. Sawgrass Mills shopping center is roughly 10 minutes northwest for retail and entertainment. Nearby Broward County parks and the Everglades National Park are within a 30-60 minute drive, offering boating, airboat tours, and outdoor recreation for an active lifestyle.
