Overview The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) plays a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. Working primarily with children in educational settings or clinical environments, the SLP develops personalized treatment plans to enhance communication skills and improve overall quality of life for patients. This position requires a compassionate approach to patient care and a strong commitment to fostering developmental progress. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech and language abilities in patients. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient needs. Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving communication skills, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language comprehension. Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to support patient progress in various settings such as schools and clinics. Provide early intervention services for children with developmental delays. Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in speech therapy and related fields. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to speech-language pathology. Proficiency in patient assessment techniques to evaluate speech and language disorders. Experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in school or early intervention settings. Understanding of physiology and anatomy as it relates to speech production and communication processes. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to create engaging therapy sessions that motivate patients toward achieving their goals. Compassionate approach to patient care that fosters trust and encourages participation in therapy sessions. This position is essential for supporting individuals on their journey toward improved communication abilities, making a significant impact on their lives through dedicated care and expertise. This position is for clinic based AND mobile community visits.
