Summary Job Summary:
The Speech Pathologist is responsible for evaluation and treatment of patients with speech, language, oral motor, voice, and/or swallowing disorders. Provides care to inpatient and outpatient caseload. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team regarding the needs of the patient. Opportunities to contribute to presentations, publications, supervision of students/interns and execution of departmental education efforts, etc.
Responsibilities:
Complete evaluations and treatments of assigned patients with speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders in accordance to established standards of care and practice including selecting assessment tools, tests and measures, goal setting, etc. Monitors and responds to the patients response to treatment and adjusts accordingly, reassessing the patient as needed or at least every 2 weeks, and discharging the patient in a timely manner dependent on the needs of the patient. Accurately performs documentation on each evaluation and treatment session within the electronic medical record and accurately documents billing charges. Attends staff meetings and educational in services/presentations. Present in-service after attending professional conferences.
Credentials and Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Speech Pathology FL SLP License BLS Certification Certificate of Clinical Competency of the ASHA or in a Clinical fellowship year (Temporary License) This position is NOT a clinical fellowship and requires a FL SLP license. 1 year Clinical experience in an acute care hospital (experience during grad school will be accepted) Outpatient experience highly preferred
