A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into an opportunity to support students' communication needs in vibrant Florida schools as a contract SLP-CCC. Multiple assignments are available covering maternity leaves at the K-8 and high school levels, offering the chance to work closely with established, welcoming teams. Assignments are located at three campuses, each offering unique caseloads: At Manatee Academy K-8, you'll join an experienced SLP team and provide services to a diverse group of K-8 students, with a maternity leave position starting as soon as possible and ending in January. Palm Pointe K-8 also features a collaborative environment, serving K-8 students—including those in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) units—alongside another on-site SLP. This assignment runs October through January. Ft. Pierce Central High School needs coverage from September through October 20th, where you'll support a high school caseload, with a SLPA present two days per week. What you'll need to succeed: Active FL Speech-Language Pathologist - CCC license (required) Previous experience in school settings strongly preferred Ability to manage IEPs, conduct evaluations, and work with diverse student populations Strong collaboration skills for working with education teams and parents Ability to work on-site as required for direct student support Willingness to complete time-sensitive fingerprinting and credentialing (district can access AHCA if applicable) Key responsibilities: Deliver speech and language therapy in accordance with IEP requirements Conduct assessments and participate in eligibility meetings Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff Maintain timely documentation for compliance Enjoy a stable, full-time schedule—35 hours per week, Monday through Friday—while making a measurable difference in the lives of students.
