A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Home HealthJob Summary We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our growing home health team. In this role, you will provide skilled speech therapy services in patients' homes, including evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing therapy. Our flexible scheduling allows you to create your own schedule, including evenings and weekends if desired. You can accept cases that fit your availability and work in areas close to your home or current workplace. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing evaluations. Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's needs and physician orders. Provide evidence-based speech therapy interventions to improve communication and swallowing function. Perform dysphagia evaluations and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment goals and home exercise programs. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed. Complete all documentation accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with agency, state, and federal regulations. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team. Maintain compliance with Medicare, home health, and agency policies.
Qualifications Required:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Florida Speech-Language Pathologist License. Current CCC-SLP certification through ASHA. Current CPR Certification. Experience performing dysphagia evaluations. Recent Physical Examination. Minimum of six (6) months of Home Health experience. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance. Preferred Skills Patient-centered approach with excellent bedside manner. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently while managing a flexible schedule.
