A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Winter Haven Hospital , part of the BayCare Health System , is seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist - Clinical Fellow (CFY) to join our acute care rehabilitation team. This role provides a structured clinical fellowship experience designed to support the transition from graduate student to independent clinician through mentorship and hands-on patient care. Responsibilities:
Complete a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in accordance with ASHA guidelines and standards. Perform comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings. Provide therapy interventions in an acute care hospital setting, supporting patients with a wide range of diagnoses. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation professionals. Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and strategies for continued recovery. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Participate in discharge planning and contribute to continuity of care.
Requirements:
