A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.
Position Overview New Heights Academy is seeking a passionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathologist to provide high-quality therapy services within a pediatric outpatient clinic in Alpharetta, Georgia. This is an initial one-year contract position with the opportunity to continue on an ongoing basis. Both experienced therapists and qualified new graduates are encouraged to apply. The Speech-Language Pathologist will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other pediatric professionals. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing evidence-based, family-centered care to a diverse pediatric population. Key Responsibilities Evaluate pediatric clients using appropriate standardized assessment tools Develop individualized treatment plans based on each child's needs and goals Provide evidence-based speech, language, communication, and feeding therapy services as appropriate Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans when needed Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation Communicate treatment recommendations and progress with families and caregivers Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other members of the care team Provide compassionate, engaging, and developmentally appropriate services Follow all applicable clinical, ethical, and professional standards Qualifications Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in the State of Georgia Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field Clinical experience working with pediatric clients preferred Familiarity with pediatric standardized assessment and measurement tools Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team New graduates who meet Georgia licensing requirements are welcome to apply Preferred Qualifications Previous pediatric outpatient clinic experience Experience providing family-centered care Current CPR certification Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, when applicable Work Environment This position is fully on-site in an outpatient pediatric clinic.
