A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

This job was posted and verified on 06/10/2026 Crystal Heights in Des Moines, IA, is a post-acute care facility with long-term care, short-term care, and geriatric services provided. We can offer a stable and fun in-house therapy team to work with as well as excellent programs serving our geriatric clientele in their journey to recovery. We are currently seeking a Full Time Speech-Language Pathologist for our in-house rehab program! Screen and evaluate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders, developing appropriate care plans following regulatory and clinical standards. Deliver rehabilitative treatment to patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders, ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical practice requirements. Evaluate treatment outcomes, modifying services based on patient evaluation and making referrals as needed. Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders. Generate comprehensive discharge summaries in adherence to regulatory and clinical requirements.Qualifications:
Speech-Language Pathologist license is required.
