Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding summer position where your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist makes a direct impact. This contract opportunity is available for a dedicated professional who thrives in an educational setting, supporting Extended School Year (ESY) students in a self-contained environment. The assignment is based onsite near Algonquin, IL, and runs from May 27th and June 1st through June 25th, 2026, with work hours from 7:45 AM to 12:15 PM, Monday through Thursday.
Key Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders Valid SLP license in Illinois and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred Previous school-based practice, especially with self-contained or special education populations Experience in administering and documenting IEP minutes for ESY students Strong skills in schedule creation, session planning, and adapting materials to diverse student needs Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and families
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized speech and language therapy sessions onsite for ESY students per IEP requirements Develop, implement, and manage a therapy schedule that aligns with students' instructional needs Maintain accurate documentation and records, fulfilling all compliance and reporting standards Collaborate with classroom staff to integrate speech/language goals and support overall student success Design engaging and effective therapy activities tailored to a variety of communication challenges This contract assignment provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference during the summer, working closely with a supportive team and students who benefit from specialized instruction.
