Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Enjoy the rewarding experience of supporting students in their communication journey for the school year! A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in a school setting located near Calumet City, Illinois. This on-site position runs from mid-August through late May and is ideal for professionals passionate about making a meaningful impact across early childhood through 8th grade. You'll work collaboratively with another SLP to manage a shared caseload of approximately 70 students, ensuring no single therapist is overwhelmed—one SLP will manage 45 students, and the other will handle 25. This contract offers stability, professional growth, and a welcoming school environment.
Qualifications:
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP endorsement Speech-Language Pathology license through IDFPR Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Recent experience in a school setting preferred Demonstrated commitment to supporting students' individual needs Must be available for on-site work (no teletherapy) ISBE number required for consideration
Key Responsibilities:
Assess, diagnose, and provide direct therapy for students with speech, language, and communication challenges Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with district guidelines Collaborate with other SLPs, teachers, staff, and families Maintain accurate and timely documentation Adhere to district and union regulations This position offers the chance to work alongside supportive colleagues in a dynamic, student-centered environment.
