Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and communication skills near Chicago, IL! This school-based assignment runs from mid-August through late May, ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) passionate about making an impact in educational settings. The role is specifically on-site, serving an early childhood through 8th-grade caseload. With a manageable student load—split collaboratively with another SLP—your expertise will help address a variety of speech and language needs within the district.
Key Qualifications:
Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in Speech-Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Previous experience working with school-age children is highly valued Strong interpersonal abilities and teamwork mindset ISBE number required for application considerationResponsibilities:
Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) Provide direct therapy and support to a diverse caseload (EC-8th grade), working collaboratively with a .5 FTE SLP Maintain accurate and timely documentation compliant with school and state regulations Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary planning Support student progress and integrate best practices in speech-language services This assignment is a wonderful chance to work closely with dedicated educators and families.
