(1.0 FTE)Qualifications:
Professional Educator License with an endorsement as a Speech-Language Pathologist registered in Region 6 Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA (preferred); CFY accepted Experience preferred working with elementary students in grades early childhood through 6th Knowledgeable in phonology, fluency, and language disorders Experience with AAC preferred Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents and serve on a multidisciplinary team Effective communication and interpersonal skillsDuties:
Identify and provide appropriate services for children with communication disorders in the following areas: phonological/articulation disorders, language disorders, stuttering/dysfluency, and other speech-language disorders. Participate in developing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including measurable goals and objectives for each student's needs as applicable to the educational setting. Interpret test findings and make appropriate recommendations. Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures. Participate in all pre-referral and referral procedures as required by the District. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and complete progress reports. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents, and community agencies. Consult with teachers, parents, and other IEP committee members to ensure that students' needs are being met. Model professional and ethical conduct at all times. Participate in District department meetings of speech-language pathologists for the purpose of coordinating and improving the program and services to students.Location:
