Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving a vibrant PK-8 educational community near Naperville, IL. In this full-time role, you'll work with a single school site, supporting students with a wide spectrum of communication needs. With a manageable caseload of approximately 50 students that includes a variety of conditions—ranging from speech-only concerns to some ASD—you'll have the chance to make a significant impact.
Qualifications:
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required Illinois state licensure (or eligibility) for SLP Previous experience in school-based settings strongly preferred Solid understanding of evaluation, intervention, and documentation tailored to a diverse PK-8 population Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families Ability to manage time efficiently with a caseload spanning multiple needs and grade levels
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and provide therapy to students with varying diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder and straightforward speech impairments Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEP) for each student Maintain accurate, timely records and progress notes in compliance with district and state guidelines Collaborate closely with special education staff and classroom teachers to integrate therapy goals and support academic achievement Engage families by providing resources, progress updates, and strategies for at-home reinforcement Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary problem-solving The position is full-time, Monday through Friday (8:00 am-3:30 pm), totaling 35 hours each week, all at one convenient school location.
