Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a part-time Speech Language Pathologist, where your expertise will help empower high school students and younger learners to reach their fullest potential. This engaging role, set in a bustling educational environment, offers three flexible days each week focused on supporting students with a range of speech and language needs—including those with moderate to severe disabilities, aged 2 to 22 years.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver impactful speech-language therapy services to students Address a variety of needs including assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and delays in receptive and expressive language development Perform thorough diagnostic and evaluation assessments as needed Prepare clear, comprehensive, and insightful reports based on student assessments and observations Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives Build supportive relationships by collaborating with parents and multidisciplinary teams to discuss student progress and strategize support Adapt to varying situations and solve problems with a flexible, positive approach
Qualifications:
Current Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) license and Professional Educator License (PEL), or eligibility to obtain Prefer at least 1 to 2 years of prior experience in school-based speech-language pathology Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting Enjoy a professionally enriching environment that values dedication and innovation.
