Exempt Job Summary:
Provide speech and language services to students with disabilities within local public schools. The Speech and Language Pathologist must be able to perform the attached essential job functions and satisfactorily demonstrate the competencies for certified staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position. The individuals currently holding this position perform additional duties, and additional duties may be assigned. Diagnoses, evaluates and reports speech and language skills as related to the general education curriculum Plans, schedules and implements programs for individuals with language and/or speech impairments. Maintains all students' records required by law, policies and administrative procedures. Appropriately administers scores and interprets specialized speech and language assessments. Utilizes research to aid in identifying appropriate techniques and services to meet student needs. For students being considered for only speech services, the Speech and Language Pathologist will act as the Teacher of Record. In this role, they serve in a leadership role for articulation, fluency and voice cases. Facilitate the referral process Complete the record review Complete appropriate evaluations Document and submit appropriate Medicaid billing files Consults with the TOR on the development of the individualized educational plans for students when speech and/or language are related services. Provides students with strategies necessary for generalization of learned skills to promote independent monitoring of communication. Conducts and participates in case conferences to review diagnostic information and student progress Implements the use of assistive technology with students and consults with other staff as needed Attends speech and language staff meetings, as well as all staff meetings at the building and district level. Supervises speech-language pathology assistants if applicable. Performs other duties as assigned or required through the students' IEP needs.
Qualifications :
Listed below are the minimum qualifications for this job, though an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may be accepted. Master's degree in Speech and Language with required successful school internship and/or student teaching. Current Indiana State Speech and Language Pathology License on file in the central office. Hold and maintain registration with Indiana Professional License Agency Possess a basic knowledge of special education laws and regulations and can follow developed procedures. Hold and maintain CCC Credential Desire to continue career improvement.

Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials. Occasional stooping, bending and reaching. Must work indoors and outdoors year-round. Must work in noisy and crowded environments The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally performed indoors. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
