(Infant Toddler Services of Douglas County)(Part C) Positions available on a full-time or part-time basis, depending on candidate preference and organizational needs •

Required:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/ Kansas License in Speech-Language Pathology or ability to obtain KS license. (CFY available)
Preferred:
Experience and proficiency in home-based services for infants and toddlers: Experience and proficiency in State and Federal Regulations, Standards statues and Procedures Reports to: Building Principal
Job Goal:
As noted in Kansas State Regulation, KAR 91-40-1, school speech-language pathology services" means the provision of any of the following services: Identification of children with speech or language impairments; Diagnosis and appraisal of specific speech or language impairments; Referral for medical or other professional attention necessary for the habilitation of speech or language impairments; Provision of speech and language services for the habilitation or prevention of communicative impairments; and Counseling and guidance of parents, children, and teachers regarding speech and language impairments.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide services to a diverse population of students as stated in the student's Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Provide services to children and families in a child's natural environment (home and community based services). Participate in assessment of students educational needs in regards to communication which may include observation, interviews, standardized assessments, and curriculum-based assessments. Completes written reports and follows procedural guidelines as set forth by Principal and Special Education Facilitator. Participate in team problem solving with Part C facilitator coordinating programming to ensure effective services, interventions, and supports. Maintain daily activity logs to document activities and contacts as required by the district and state. Consults and collaborates with providers and staff on ways to support families based on IFSP needs. Keeps exceptional student's IFSP's current and maintains information according to Part C and district policies. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
Ability to possess and maintain appropriate licensure or certification in the state of Kansas. Ability to possess and maintain licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Kansas. Ability to speak clearly to various groups expressing ideas in a logical and concise manner, and possess composition skills suitable for producing written communication for a variety of readers. Ability to quickly analyze a situation and provide a prompt response or determine next steps. Ability to respond to information requests in a courteous, timely and helpful manner. Ability to perform job responsibilities using appropriate software on district computer system and communication equipment. Ability to manage job responsibilities while meeting established deadlines. Ability to work constructively and cooperatively with others. Ability to travel as needed. The tasks listed in this position description are subject to change at the discretion of the superintendent. The incumbent is expected to take on other duties as requested or assigned by his/her supervisor. Terms of Employment and Evaluation as outlined in Board Policy.
