Teachers, OT/PT, and employment trainers Days in work calendar: 189 JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Admissions & Release Committee, screen, assess and identify students with communication disorders which adversely affect their educational progress. Develop and provide direct and indirect services within the student's educational setting, based on established IEP goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Consults with effective delivery of speech-language services for students enrolled in the communication disorders program Coordinates ordering, disseminating, and maintaining appropriate assessment and therapy materials and equipment. Develops, implements, and monitors innovative programs for speech-language service deliver Develops and maintains resources and staff development programs for speech-language pathologists. Provides assessment and programming consultation upon request to school personnel regarding specific students and their communication needs, including augmentative and alternative communication systems. Attends ARC meetings as requested. Coordinated continued development and implementation of a communication disorders plan for each student. Serves as a resource for teachers of students with hearing and visual impairments. Monitors contractual audiology services for evaluations and equipment needs, including inventory and repairs. Set up treatment calendars in Medicaid Billing System by the 10th day of school, and revise as students enroll or change. Complete all service logs for Medicaid Billing by the 10th of each month for the preceding month. Document pupil progress and maintain appropriate data/records pertaining to therapy services and present/provide information at all ARC meetings. Maintains regular attendance Performs other duties as assigned Demonstrates the ability to communicate in more than one language or the willingness to learn to communicate in more than one language at the novice level of proficiency. Performs other duties as assigned. Maintains regular attendance.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in Communication Disorders
Licenses or Certifications:
Kentucky Department of Education Certificate for Teachers of Exceptional Children—Speech and Communication Disorders, Grades K-12. Certificate for Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
