TITLE:
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
- Itinerant Position Reports to: Director of Special Education and Principal.
Job Goal:
To maximize the communication potential of each student identified as having an educationally significant communication disorder.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Where appropriate, screen the communication skills of students enrolled in the schools of Rockcastle County, relating the findings of designated personnel. Conduct communication disorder evaluation of referred students within the KAR guidelines relating to communication disorders Summarize screening/evaluation findings and explain such findings and/or reports from other agencies as is necessary to the ARC or such designated individuals as is appropriate Participate in Admission and Release Committee meetings where appropriate Deliver remediation services individually and in groups through a variety of service delivery models including, but not limited to, direct pull-out, indirect pull-out, collaborative and cooperative Maintain records as to screenings, evaluations, therapy, and such other services Serve as a consultant for communication disorders within the school, the family, the community, and in such regions as requested Conduct training with various agencies, including school, community, public service, health agencies, etc., as relates to communication disorders Attend staff, professional, and interagency meetings Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education

EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of Board Policy for the evaluation of certified (administrative) personnel
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid speech-language pathology license, or interim license, issued by the Kentucky Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. ASHA Certified. Certification as required by the Kentucky Department of Education.
