Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a genuine impact this school year by providing speech-language pathology services to students at a welcoming elementary school in New Orleans, LA. This full-time contract position is focused on supporting students' communication needs during a maternity leave, running from September 14th through November 30th (following Thanksgiving break). Work alongside engaged educators in a collaborative environment and deliver essential interventions that help students reach their full potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders required Active ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility as a Clinical Fellow (CF) Current (or eligible) Louisiana SLP licensure Previous experience serving school-aged children in a school, pediatric, or similar setting a plus Strong communication skills, organizational ability, and a student-centered attitude Ability to manage a caseload of 50-60 elementary school students Dedicated to in-person (onsite) service delivery
Responsibilities Include:
Conduct speech-language assessments and create individualized education plans (IEPs) Deliver direct therapy sessions, individually and in groups, to students with various speech and language needs Collaborate with educators, specialists, and families to support student progress Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports Participate in meetings, consultations, and school-wide initiatives as needed Experience the rewards of contributing your expertise to a supportive school environment—while advancing your own professional growth.
