Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized speech-language services in a unique educational setting catering to high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and other learning differences.
Location:
Ludlow, MA Assignment Duration:
July 6, 2026 - August 7, 2026 (with potential for the 2026/27 school year)
Weekly Hours:
15-20 hours, spread over 2-3 days per week
Program:
Compass High Program at Ludlow High School, focusing on supportive, personalized education that promotes independence outside of traditional classroom settings
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver speech-language pathology services tailored for high school students within a specialized setting Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) support and services; AAC evaluation experience is helpful but not required Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized plans Support students in building communication and independence skills appropriate to their needs
Required Qualifications:
Valid state licensure and certification in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) consistent with state requirements Experience working with adolescents, preferably those with ASD or similar learning differences Knowledge of AAC devices and methods, with practical service experience strongly preferred Ability to work independently and adapt services to a specialized educational environment
