Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist This position reports to the Director of Student Services & Building Principal Danvers Public Schools is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students enrolled in the district's specialized programs. These programs serve students with a range of communication, developmental, and learning needs across preschool through postgraduate levels. The SLP will play a critical role in supporting students' functional communication, social-pragmatic development, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and language development to ensure students can access academic instruction, participate in social interactions, and develop independence. This position offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team, including special educators, BCBAs, occupational therapists, social workers, and psychologists, while supporting innovative, evidence-based programming designed to meet the diverse needs of students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct speech-language evaluations to determine eligibility and inform individualized programming. Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services aligned with students' IEP goals. Support development and implementation of functional communication systems, including AAC devices and communication supports.
Provide instruction in:
expressive and receptive language, pragmatic/social communication, functional communication, language development for academic access Collaborate with special educators, BCBAs, related service providers, and general education staff to support communication across environments. Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and collaborative planning sessions. Monitor student progress through data collection and progress reporting. Provide consultation and training to staff on communication supports and AAC implementation. Partner with families to support communication development and generalization of skills across settings.
