To Be Determined Job Description Speech Language Pathologist Job Summary This position provides speech and language evaluations, consultation, and direct services to eligible students. Qualifications Master's Degree, preferred DESE License of Speech Language and Hearing Disorders (All Levels) Required Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Certification Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC), Required Experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist in a school setting preferred Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the areas of child speech and language development Ability to handle multitude of varying and complex issues Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Provide opportunities for the integration of technology into the classroom. Responsibilities Provide students with intensive instruction in speech, language, communication, and pragmatic language skills as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation. Assess students via formal and informal test measures and write formal reports. Participate in the development of a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Assist teachers and other special education staff in the development and implementation of curriculum accommodations/modifications and appropriate classroom strategies as determined by the Team process and subsequent IEP formulation. Create a developmentally appropriate, child-centered environment that establishes positive student behavioral expectations conducive to all learners' needs. Provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment that is responsive to all learners and their families. Partner with families to create strong two way communication. Maintain appropriate records and provide timely reports. Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues to positively contribute to the school culture. Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques for students with communication disorders. Responsible for other job-related duties as needed.
