Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students in a specialized Compass High Program designed for those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other unique learning profiles. This contract opportunity runs from late August 2026 through late June 2027, with the assignment based in Ludlow, MA. You'll serve as a vital member of a forward-thinking educational team, providing speech and language services within an environment tailored for personalized learning and fostering independence beyond traditional classroom settings.
Key Qualifications:
Hold a current, active state license and meet all state requirements for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP). Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) required. Demonstrated experience working in school settings with high school students. Skilled in utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices to support diverse learner needs. Prior experience or comfort with supervising Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) strongly preferred. Adaptable and engaging communication style to connect with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) or other learning differences.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct speech and language therapy services to high school students in a supportive, collaborative setting. Supervise an SLPA and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to maximize student growth and independence. Conduct assessments, develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, and maintain accurate, timely documentation. Utilize AAC devices to facilitate communication and engagement for students. Participate in regular team meetings, family conferences, and ongoing professional development sessions.
