Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - 1099
Independent Contractor Facility Name:

$65-$75 per hour inclusive of direct therapy and associated administrative tasks Job type: Contract (1099 Independent Contractor)

Gateway Maryland is an established nonprofit and leader in communication services in Baltimore, Maryland with a mission to give hope and change lives. We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team as an independent contractor who can thrive in our clinician-friendly environment where evidence-based care and client partnership come first. What you'll do Maintain a flexible schedule while delivering high-quality services. Provide speech and language therapy services in-person and/or via teletherapy to pediatric clients.
  • Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with families and other providers to support client goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluation reports, treatment plans, progress notes, and quarterly summaries, as required, utilizing Gateway's EHR system.
Maintain compliance with state regulations, payer requirements, and company policies. What we're looking for Ability to work independently. Clear, professional communication with families, colleagues, and partners, as needed. Effective time management. Reliable follow-through and timely, high-quality documentation. Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Qualifications & Requirements Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Completion of clinical fellowship year. Active Maryland SLP license (required). ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred. Previous experience with pediatric populations. Strong clinical judgment, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and meet documentation timelines. Reliable transportation for in-person services. Gateway manages credentialing for Maryland Medicaid and insurance providers. 1099 Contractor Requirements (You Maintain) National Provider Identifier (NPI) Professional liability (malpractice) insurance Continuing Education (CE) compliance and timely license renewal Understanding of procedure and diagnosis codes Compliance with HIPAA and all applicable federal/state/payer requirements Responsible for your own taxes and business set-up (EIN/business entity if applicable) Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the day. Frequent use of hands/arms for play-based activities, materials, and documentation. Occasional lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs with or without assistance.
