Job Description

SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
Job Summary:
  • Provides direct patient care in acute care and outpatient settings.
Demonstrates knowledge of speech pathology treatment and therapeutic procedures through application in patient care. Effectively applies all speech pathology techniques appropriate to patient needs and physician orders. Completes all required documentation, assists in scheduling, and attends interdisciplinary rounds/committee meetings as assigned.
    Education:
    • Position requires a master's degree or 5-7 years equivalent combination of education and experience in related area.
    Registration/Certification/Licensure:
    • Active Maryland License - Maryland Board of Speech Language Pathology or Limited Maryland License for Clinical Fellow - Maryland Board of Speech Language Pathology
    Experience:
    • Must demonstrate competence to provide speech pathology by reason of education, training, and experience. New graduates and clinical fellows will be considered.
    Other Requirements:
    • Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
    • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Demonstrated computer skills needed for completion of computerized medical records, billing records, and various other computerized tasks.
