  • WILTON Speech/Language Pathologist Special Education Districtwide (Full & Part time opportunites available) Job Goal(s): Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to assess all areas of speech and language development, and provide direct instruction and consult to team members in a collaborative manner.
Speech/language pathologists will develop individualized goals & Individualized Education Plans consistent with state/federal laws and regulations, provide case management for students with speech/language disabilities, and implement programs in the least restrictive environment appropriate for the student. This is a district-wide, pre K-12 position.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will work with students with disabilities with speech and language impairments that interfere with the individual student's ability to benefit from their educational program. This position is full time addressing needs of students pre K-12. Caseload has a focus on students with social cognitive impairments, receptive and expressive language disorders and delays. Experience working directly with students with developmental disabilities/autism spectrum disorder strongly preferred. Certifications Speech-Language Pathologist must be licensed by the Maine Board of Examiners of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Certificate of Clinical Competence preferred Successful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference check completed with the Maine DOE
Performance Responsibilities:
Administer screening tests and comprehensive diagnostic evaluations/assessments. Case manage students with a disability category of speech/language impairment. Develop individualized goals & write Individualized Education Plans consistent with State/Federal Laws & Regulations. Participate in IEP meetings. Plan and implement therapy and use therapy techniques to support the curriculum. Collect data on student performance & report upon quarterly progress for individual students. Consult and work collaboratively with specialists and regular education teachers. Demonstrate ability to implement a variety of models of therapy including individual and small group therapy, inclusive therapy and coaching/consultation. Maintain thorough knowledge of the theory, principles and methods of speech/language pathology and their proper application in the educational environment. Complete and maintain documentation for billing purposes in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment and to maintain effectiveness in a changing environment. Ability to maintain appropriate level of ethical behavior & diligently maintain confidentiality regarding student information. Other duties as assigned Education Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology Experience Three(3)+ years experience prefered. Working Schedule School Year
  • 180 days Follows the Professional Staff Bargaining Agreement Full or Part-time opportunities available Travel Requirements Travel between schools or district buildings is required.

As determined annually by the District.

Completed annually the Director of Special Education Services or their designee.
