Location:

District Speech and Language Pathologist The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) is responsible for providing comprehensive speech and language services to students across grades PreK-12. This professional must be flexible and adaptable to work effectively with diverse age groups, spanning early childhood through high school, and address varying intervention needs, from mild to severe communication challenges. The CCC-SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders, including speech, language, voice, fluency, and pragmatic disorders, to support students in achieving their educational goals. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will ensure inclusive and effective educational experiences for students with a wide range of needs.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). State licensure in Speech-Language Pathology or eligibility for licensure in the state of employment. Ability to work flexibly across multiple grade levels and address a variety of communication needs. Knowledge of educational laws and regulations, including IDEA and ADA.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with school-aged children across diverse populations. Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools and technology. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Diagnosis Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations using standardized and informal assessment tools. Identify students' communication strengths and areas of need in alignment with developmental milestones and educational expectations. Interpret and communicate assessment findings to parents, teachers, and school staff. Intervention and Treatment Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), based on assessment results and student needs. Provide direct therapy services addressing a wide range of communication goals across various age levels. Adapt therapy methods and materials to align with the developmental, academic, and social needs of students across PreK-12. Employ evidence-based practices and culturally responsive approaches in therapy sessions. Monitor and document student progress regularly, adjusting treatment as necessary. Collaboration and Consultation Serve as a resource for teachers, staff, and parents on speech-language development and strategies for supporting communication in the classroom. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including special educators, classroom teachers, and related service providers, to support students' academic and social success. Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other relevant school team meetings. Compliance and Documentation Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including IDEA and Section 504. Stay current on best practices, legal standards, and technological tools in speech-language pathology. Professional Development Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain CCC-SLP certification. Stay informed about emerging trends and research in speech-language pathology and education. Participate in school-based or district-wide initiatives to enhance student services. Experience working with school-aged children across diverse populations. Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools and technology. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Additional Duties:

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Services and other administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
