Job Description What You Will Do:
Provide screening, identification, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, intervention and follow-up services for disorders of speech and language Provide training and support to teachers, other professionals and family members of individuals with speech, voice and language communication Develop and establish effective augmentative and alternative communication techniques and strategies, including selecting, prescribing and dispensing of aids and devices and training individuals in their use To work with adaptive devices Maintain effective communication and relationships with students, parents, administrators, school personnel and community representatives Maintain accurate and timely records Demonstrate professional conduct and exhibit professional growth Manage a safe and comfortable learning environment Prepare for and participate in the REED/IEP and nonpublic service plan process Inform building administrator of student's progress and programmatic concerns Direct students in clinical or pre-clinical training, volunteers, and attendant personnel that may be assigned to them Comply with school district policies and procedures Effectively participate in meetings, committees, staffings, and other required district and building activities in a positive manner Effectively plan and organize duties as well as personal work environment Comply with Medicaid billing procedures Regular and predictable attendance Other duties as assigned Under the general supervision of the Building Administrator Need to
Have:
Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist License or Educational Limited SLP License Experience in evaluation and therapy of children with disabilities preferred
