Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - SLP Job Type Contract Provide expert speech-language pathology care in a hospital setting, supporting patients' recovery and communication needs over a 13-week assignment with the potential for extension. As a valued team member, you'll work under the supervision of a therapy manager and play a critical role in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Schedule:
Wednesday to Saturday 10-hour shifts (7:45 am - 6:15 pm; start time negotiable)
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology required; Master's degree preferred Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Previous experience with inpatient rehab, adult acute care, adult patient assessments, and bedside swallow or BIM assessments highly preferred Expertise in thorough, accurate documentation Experience using Cerner or Epic electronic medical records systems is a plus Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work independently Self-motivated, reliable, and able to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate patients and develop targeted treatment plans to address communication and swallowing deficits Provide direct speech-language pathology services and adjust therapy plans as needed Conduct thorough and timely patient assessments, including bedside swallows and BIM assessments Document all patient encounters, progress, and outcomes using hospital EMR systems Communicate therapy progress and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care Offer patient and family education regarding therapy goals and ongoing care strategies This opportunity offers a meaningful way to advance your SLP career in a collaborative, supportive hospital environment.
