Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Ignite student potential as an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist, supporting K-12 learners in vibrant communities around Grand Blanc, Lansing, Detroit, and nearby areas. This contract position offers rewarding opportunities to collaborate with faculty and families while making a meaningful impact on communication and learning outcomes. Candidates passionate about serving diverse populations—especially those familiar with urban settings—are highly encouraged. What you'll need to succeed: Active SLP license or proof of licensure application and pending status SLP-CCC credentials preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFYs) may be considered (established supervision preferred) Experience or strong comfort providing direct therapy to K-12 students in school settings Understanding of or readiness to address unique challenges faced by urban children and tailored resources Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including teachers, parents, and support staff Willingness to work onsite and travel between assigned buildings Availability for a 35-hour workweek, from mid-August to early June Submission of official university transcripts before district presentation Your key responsibilities: Deliver individual and group speech/language therapy to eligible students Develop, implement, and monitor annual IEP goals and objectives Conduct assessments, write detailed reports, and participate in IEP/MET meetings Consult and collaborate with teachers and families to support classroom integration Keep accurate records, compliance documentation, and progress reports Provide professional development to staff on language development strategies Train and support students in the use of AAC systems Maintain and organize therapy equipment and materials Travel as needed across school locations Contribute positively to team efforts and perform additional related duties Step into a dynamic school role where your expertise fosters better communication and inclusivity for students.
