Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into an impactful contract opportunity serving elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the upcoming academic term. This position supports young learners from kindergarten through fourth grade, providing essential interventions that foster communication skills and academic success. The assignment begins August 17, 2026, and runs through November 20, 2026, with a consistent full-time schedule of 35 hours per week.
Desired Background and Credentials:
Active and current Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license for the state of Michigan is required Certification of Clinical Competence (SLP-CCC) is essential; candidates in Clinical Fellowship (SLP-CFY) are not eligible for this position Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff Comfort managing a caseload of elementary-aged students with diverse articulation, language, and communication needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct speech-language services for K-4th students in individual and small group settings Conduct comprehensive evaluations to guide treatment planning and eligibility Document progress, maintain compliance with IEP requirements, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings Consult with teachers, families, and other service providers to promote generalization of skills Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages each child's growth and self-confidence This school-based role offers you the chance to make a true difference in children's lives while building meaningful connections with colleagues and families.
