The Specialists

School Based Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Description

About The Specialists The Specialists is a locally owned, women-owned, clinician-led speech and occupational therapy practice dedicated to providing exceptional services while creating an environment where therapists feel valued, supported, and fairly compensated. As clinicians ourselves, we understand the challenges of working in school settings, and we believe therapists deserve competitive compensation, professional autonomy, and an employer who genuinely understands their work. We are expanding our school-based therapy services and looking to connect with passionate Speech-Language Pathologists interested in contract opportunities with school districts throughout Michigan. A Unique Opportunity - Help Us Find Your Ideal Placement! Unlike traditional staffing agencies, we take a personalized approach to school-based placements. We are actively building relationships with school districts and seeking SLPs who would like to be considered for upcoming opportunities. Rather than requiring you to relocate or commute long distances for an existing opening, we want to learn where you'd like to work, your ideal schedule, and what you're looking for in a school-based position. Once we identify a strong candidate, our team can proactively reach out to school districts in your preferred geographic area to explore opportunities and establish a contract that works for everyone.
Please note:
District contracts and placements are not guaranteed at the time of application. Employment offers and start dates will be contingent upon securing an appropriate district partnership. Responsibilities Provide individualized speech and language evaluations and therapy services to students with diverse communication needs. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, eligibility determinations, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with state and federal special education requirements. Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and other related service providers. Support students with speech sound disorders, language disorders, fluency, social communication, and complex communication needs, including AAC. Manage assigned caseloads and maintain compliance with district expectations and timelines. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders. Current Michigan SLP licensure or eligibility for licensure. Ability to meet applicable Michigan school-based credentialing requirements. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Experience with IEP development and school-based service delivery preferred. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred. What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation that reflects your experience and expertise. We are committed to paying therapists what we would want to be paid. Health Insurance 401(K) W-2 employment Geographic preferences considered when pursuing district partnerships. Support from a clinician-owned company that understands school-based therapy. Collaborative leadership and open communication. Opportunities for professional growth. Benefits and additional employment details discussed based on the position and placement. Interested? Let's Talk! Whether you're actively looking for a new school-based position or simply exploring your options, we'd love to connect. Tell us a little about yourself, your preferred geographic area, ideal schedule, and compensation expectations. We'll work to identify potential school district partnerships that align with your goals. The Specialists, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
