A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Make a difference in the lives of 3rd-5th grade students by providing high-quality speech and language services in a rewarding school-based contract role. This full-time opportunity offers you the chance to work in an engaging environment supporting a caseload of approximately 40-45 students, with a primary focus on conducting initial evaluations. Both Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) and Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) are encouraged to apply, and comprehensive supervision is available for those seeking it.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Valid SLP (CCC or CFY) or SLPA credential/licensure recognized in Minnesota Experience with pediatric or school-aged populations encouraged, but strong new graduates will be considered Knowledge of evaluation and assessment procedures for school-based speech and language services Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage caseload, documentation, and communication Collaborative approach to working with teachers, parents, and other support staff

Core Responsibilities:

Delivery of speech and language services to 3rd-5th grade students Completing and documenting initial assessments for students referred for services Developing and implementing therapy plans that align with students' IEP/504 goals Consulting with educational staff and families to maximize student outcomes Maintaining accurate and timely service and evaluation records Participating in interdisciplinary meetings as needed Why pursue this opportunity?
