A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Provides services to pediatrics patients, from very young (newborn) to adolescent, in order to prevent, assess, alleviate or correct communication, swallowing or other speech related disorders. Responsible for evaluating patient needs, conducting diagnostic tests/procedures, establishing treatment plans and providing treatments/services accordingly. Works with individuals using current technologies and treatment techniques consistent with department and hospital policies and procedures. Responsible for independent therapist functions and delegated therapies which may be performed in collaboration with other health care team members or may be delegated by the therapist to the patient or other informal care givers who reside with the patient. In cooperation with other health professionals, the SLP will develop and implement specialized treatment programs as appropriate to meet patient needs. Patients of all ages served. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers.
Schedule:
Full-time | 80 hours per two weeks | Onsite Days | Clinic hours Monday- Thursday 7:30am-6pm and Fridays 7:30am-4:30pm No weekends or holidays!
Pay and Benefits:
Starting pay begins at $81,037.49 per year and increases with experience Salary range: $77,563.20- $116,334.40 per year. Salary range is based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate $5,000 hiring bonus and $5,000 relocation bonus Full time benefits : medical, dental, PTO, retirement, employee discounts and more! Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited university. New or upcoming graduates welcome to apply! Basic Life Support (BLS) Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider card per established policy. Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Current State of Minnesota Registration (to include a CFY Temporary License from the State of Minnesota). Certificate of Clinical Competencies (CCCs) from ASHA or certification upon completion of Clinical Fellowship Year. Specific clinical training in areas of special interest such as dysphagia and neurogenic disorders treatment desired. To be eligible for the hiring bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full-time or part-time benefited position. Previous CentraCare employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare for at least 9 months at the date of hire.

Must accept a position that offers benefits and may not have worked for CentraCare in the last 9 months. Must currently reside more than 50 miles away from Waite Park and relocate within 30 miles of Waite Park.
