Job Description

Minnesota Valley Education District (MVED) is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. Overview Providing speech and language therapy for students with special education services including speech, language, voice, fluency and neurogenic swallowing disorders and communication impairments. Conducts support research related to speech and language problems. Responsible for implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP) in accordance with due process rights of students. Duties
  • Provides students specific direct and indirect speech therapy services as determined in the IEP.
Conducts appropriate speech therapy screening, evaluation, and intervention services to support students with disabilities who are referred by campus personnel and parents. Follows departmental and state guidelines for providing screening, evaluation, and intervention services for children with disabilities including maintaining compliance with dues process requirements, professional peer review and administrative review policies
  • Effectively communicates with district personnel, students, caseworkers, parents, etc. Participates in meetings as requested. Serves as a liaison with the medical community and agencies on student issues related to speech therapy services. Supports parents of children with disabilities to understand the role of speech therapy services in school. Accesses school or community resources
  • Provides billable medical assistance services Licensures, Qualifications, and Other Requirements
  • A current license in Speech Language Pathology issued by the Minnesota Department of Education as well as eligibility for an American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association Clinical Fellowship, or the CCC certification is required.
  • May be required to possess a current Minnesota Motor Vehicle Class D Operator License.
