What they do

A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Speech Language Pathologist- Lionsgate Academy, Shoreview, MN Lionsgate is a Public Charter School that specializes in educating students with Autism or other learning differences and offers more than a typical school.
SLP AT OUR SCHOOL
Caseload of approximately 30 middle and high school students Work with students in the pull-out, push-in, and small group setting. Work at one campus with at least one other SLP and collaborate closely with other support services (social work, OT, DAPE) ASHA dues and professional development paid by district Caseloads include social communication, perspective taking, expressive/receptive language, and fluency. Minimal articulation Many students utilize AAC and functional communication skills are targeted

$55,000 - $72,000 depending on education and experience

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
MN Educational Speech Language Pathologist license Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship (CF) Ability to operate a computer and the software necessary to complete the required job tasks Knowledge and experience working with students on the autism spectrum One year previous experience working with middle school or high school age youth (preferred)
