Immediately Job Description The Southern Boone County R-1 School District is looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language services to students with communication disorders. This role includes assessment, diagnosis, therapy, and collaboration with teachers and parents to support students' academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment & Evaluation:
Conduct speech and language evaluations for students referred by staff or parents.
Therapy & Intervention:
Provide direct therapy in individual or group settings, tailored to students' needs.
IEP Collaboration:
Develop and implement IEPs, setting goals to support student communication development.
Consultation:
Advise teachers and parents on strategies to support communication in the classroom and at home.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress.
Professional Development:
Stay current on best practices and participate in ongoing training. Meet and maintain state and
ASHA CEU
requirements.
Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. District would consider strong CFY (clinical fellowship year) candidates.
Certification:
Valid state license and CCC-SLP preferred.
Experience:
Experience working with children, preferably in schools.
Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge of speech-language disorders, and ability to work collaboratively.
