Mercy, a leader in Healthcare & Medical Services, is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist to join our collaborative care team. In this role, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders across diverse age groups. You'll develop and implement individualized treatment plans, document progress, and collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other therapists. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders for patients across the lifespan. Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans aligned with patient goals and Mercy's standards of care. Provide direct therapy services, monitoring progress and adjusting interventions based on clinical outcomes and patient response. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnosis, therapy techniques, home programming, and strategies to support communication and swallowing safety. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists, and other care team members to coordinate holistic patient care. Document assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely within the electronic medical record system. Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery. Support and mentor students or new clinicians as appropriate, modeling Mercy's culture of compassion, diversity, and respect. Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with clinical best practices, regulatory requirements, and innovations in speech-language pathology. Contribute to department and organizational goals by supporting process improvements, program development, and community education efforts.
