A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

M-F, 8 hr days Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of patients' speech, language, voice, fluency, cognition, and swallowing functions using standardized tools and clinical observations. Develop individualized speech-language therapy plans based on assessment findings, aligning with best practices and patient goals. Implement therapy interventions across diverse settings, including telehealth platforms when applicable, to improve communication and swallowing abilities. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Engage with patients' families and caregivers to educate them on communication strategies and involve them actively in therapy processes. Document patient progress accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR), ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy related to speech and swallowing functions, and current therapeutic techniques. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review patient cases and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Support early intervention initiatives for pediatric patients by providing tailored therapy services aimed at developmental milestones. Stay informed about telehealth therapy best practices and incorporate remote service delivery effectively when required.
Requirements:
1 year of SLP experience

    New Grads OKAY
  • as long as a Level II experience and not just a Level I observation experience LTC or Rehab experience
  • Required MO State License
  • Required CCC certified SLP
  • Required 3 years experience holding active
CCS-preferred Pay:
$48.24
