Description The Speech Language Pathologist provides assessment and treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders, implements speech and language programs or activities and monitors the use of alternativemunication devices and systems. Minimum Qualifications Required Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology Montana Licensure (Speech Pathologist) Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology 2 years' experience in hospital and/or pediatrics Essential Job Functions In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must maintain timelypletion of all required education, trainings, and certifications as assigned and in accordance with Bozeman Health policies, department-specific requirements, applicable certification program and registry requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements. Conducts client screenings and assessments including but not limited to language, cognitive, speech, phonatory, feeding and swallowing, etc. Implements treatment plans or protocols and delivers. Documents clients' progress toward meeting established treatment objectives. Remediation or development of speech and language skills. Performs support duties such as preparing materials, keeping records, maintaining supplies, and scheduling activities. Collects andpiles data to document client's performance and to assess program quality. Selects and/or prepares speech-language instructional materials. Tests and maintains equipment to ensure performance. Conducts in-service training sessions and family andmunity education programs. Prepares charts, graphs, and other visual displays tomunicate client's performance information. Conducts of speech-language research projects. Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Schedule Requirements This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. Exposures (Continuously) Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Radiation in settings w medical imaging procedures are performed. Various chemicals and medications are used in healthcare settings. Job tasks may involve handling cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances. Infectious diseases are caused by contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
