Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential support to high school students with significant communication needs. This contract position runs from August 24th, 2026, through June 4th, 2027, with the possibility of additional days for planning. The position offers flexible, part-time scheduling—ideally 15 hours (two days per week), with consideration for those able to commit to one or more days. The assignment focuses on serving a caseload of approximately 25-35 high schoolers, primarily providing support services rather than direct therapy. Collaboration is central, as you'll work alongside a dedicated and compassionate SLP colleague.
Qualifications:
Valid North Carolina State License and Educator Certification (required) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Extensive experience with multiple AAC/Speech Generating Devices Strong background working with students who are nonverbal, minimally verbal, or require augmented communication Comfort supporting individuals with moderate to severe medical needs in an educational setting SLP-CFYs and SLPAs are not eligible for this roleResponsibilities:
Deliver assessment, intervention, and consultative services for high school students following support plans Collaborate closely with another SLP and school staff to maximize student communication outcomes Maintain regular and organized documentation as required by the school and district Contribute professional expertise in AAC to enhance student access and participation Participate in pre- and post-planning as needed This role is ideal for an SLP seeking part-time flexibility, meaningful impact, and the opportunity to work with a highly supportive colleague.
