A Speech Language Pathologist diagnoses and treats speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients with a variety of conditions. Helps patients improve their ability to make sounds or use language, or develop non-spoken means of communication. May specialize in working with patients of a certain age group, or treat speech problems resulting from a condition such as a stroke or cleft palate. Works in schools, hospitals and other healthcare facilities and works closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other therapists.

Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist providing essential support to students from September through October. Based near Elizabeth, NJ, this full-time leave position allows you to guide students in elementary, middle, and high schools during standard school hours: elementary (8:45am-3pm), middle (8:30am-2:50pm), and high school (8:05am-3pm). Work five days a week within a vibrant school community dedicated to fostering student growth and communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

Current CCC-SLP credential required Experience with school-based and pediatric populations Comfortable managing diverse caseloads, including students with speech needs and those eligible for special education Background supporting self-contained LLD (Learning and Language Disabilities) and AU (Autism) classrooms is highly regarded Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Role Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy to students across varying grade levels Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with IEP goals Work with a caseload focused primarily on middle school, with approximately 1.5 days spent with elementary students (about 15 total), and additional high school support as needed Collaborate closely with special education teams, general educators, and families to promote student success Complete all documentation and progress reports in a timely and accurate manner This fulfilling leave coverage lets you make a positive impact while bringing your expertise to a diverse student population.
