Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education for speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Works with patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or neurological conditions across rehabilitation, skilled nursing, outpatient, and acute care settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals Provide speech therapy services to patients recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or neurological conditions Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly Educate patients and family members on communication strategies and therapeutic exercises Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and outcomes Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Ensure compliance with all facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards Deliver compassionate, patient-focused care that promotes functional independence and quality of life
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program Active New Mexico Speech Language Pathologist license or eligibility to obtain licensure Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Skills:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) Current CPR/BLS certification Previous clinical experience in rehabilitation, skilled nursing, outpatient, or acute care settings
